BBC and ITV talent are reportedly limited from appearing on the competition’s programmes.

It has been claimed that contracts at the This Morning broadcaster stipulate that bosses will have the final say over its stars’ TV appearances on rival channels.

Documents reportedly reveal that, for example, that ITV ‘would say no’ to talent signing up for Strictly ‘but are likely to support an artiste appearing on I’m A Celebrity.’

‘All television appearances will also be subject to consideration of ITV’s commercial interests, especially whether the show might compete against ITV’s programmes, impact on ITV’s ratings and therefore damage ITV’s commercial interests,’ the clause reads in paperwork obtained by The Sun.

It continues: ‘As a general rule, we will support shows on ITV and productions from ITV Studios.

‘For example, we’d say no to an artiste appearing on Strictly but are likely to support an artiste appearing on I’m A Celebrity.’

The publication also understands that the BBC has a similar stipulation in place for stars wanting to join I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.

A source told the outlet: ‘Loyalty in TV doesn’t exist in quite the same way it used to and the golden handcuff contracts of old are few and far between.

‘Reality shows are really the last battleground and channels obviously want to try to retain their viewers’ favourites for their own programme.’

It comes after speculation has begun to mount over the line-ups for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celeb – with both shows reportedly desperate to secure Josie Gibson, 38.

It has been claimed ITV has offered the This Morning presenter a huge six-figure sum to head down under to lure her away from the BBC ballroom show, which left her with a ‘huge dilemma.’

‘She knows both shows are hugely popular with the public and have the potential to boost anyone’s career who appears on them,’ a source told The Sun. has contacted ITV and BBC for comment.
